Aloha and Mahalo for casting your net to Steam Island Art!
My name is Brian Toll and I am a silk artist using sustainable eco-friendly materials and practices to create "dry transfer" monotypes and "hotpoint" wax paper batik paintings of Hawaii.
This silk art has been a journey of exploration and discovery that has taken me from testing the volcanic steam vents on Kīlauea for "fixing" silk dyes, to painting the lush rain forests and lava flowing on the Big Island. The techniques I use have given me dazzling results and creative freedom. I use "Green" materials and geothermal-generated power to support a safer and sustainable future. All work is unique without reproducing giclée (inkjet) copies, eliminating unseen and hidden costs to the environment.
Mahalo nui loa for visiting.
